The importance of internationality
Internationality. Being international is important. You can always learn something new about different cultures, countries and people. And is there any other better way to learn those things but to meet new people? The answer is no. I think that my school is very international and global because we have a lot of exchange students from all around the world. Like from Spain, Germany, Czech and Singapore.
The Singaporeans were here just for one week, but in that week I learned so many interesting things about Singapore and Singaporeans. And it was fun because I didn’t have any expectations or prejudice. I wanted to know as generic things as possible, like ‘’what do movie tickets cost?’’ or ‘’are things cheaper in Singapore than in Finland?’’ Of course after we loosened up a little bit, we started talking more about politics, jobs, hopes and money.
Everybody likes to travel. Well maybe not everybody but I’d like to think that most people do. I’ve traveled a lot. I’ve been all over the world mostly in the southern part of the globe. By traveling I’ve met many interesting people and seen so many different cultures and habits. I think that traveling and learning about different cultures is important especially for young people, because we are more vulnerable and maybe more open to outside influences. So good people, travel, live and do. And by the way, if you ever go to Singapore, Movie tickets cost around 3$ and yes, things are lot more cheaper in Singapore than in Finland.

I totally agree with you about the benefits and importance of travelling and meeting new people, with an open mind, as you said. I would have been interested to hear what was said about politics, for example, between you and the Singaporean guest!
